Murder Mystery Dinner

Oh man you guys! This was So. Much. Fun! I came across this kit while I was searching google for a fun quick game to play Halloween night. Turned out this one was little too involved for a night that is already packed with all the fun things! But I knew it would be perfect for a planned night that was devoted to just the game. Before I get too far into it, I did find a quick and free murder mystery game you can play that does not need a whole night devoted to it! I will link both at the end.

This kit was purchased through Playing with Murder! They have a ton of different kits, for every situation, every need (more or less players etc.). Anyway, I chose Murder in Manhattan and it was perfect. At the party, we were celebrating Francis Fisk’s 25th Anniversary at Fisk Enterprise, his real estate company! Each character comes with their own set of secrets and gossip! It is up to each character to learn about the others and decide who the murderer is. This kit can have up to 25 characters but only needs 10 to play! It is a 170 page downloadable file. You can print what you need and/or print the whole thing. I printed the whole thing and then sorted through it, my brain just works better that way.

You get all the instructions, characters descriptions, clues to hide, name tags the whole darn thing. You can choose to do what you want with it and how you want to set it up! I kind of went all out, got brown envelopes to give each character their information, I bought plastic name tag covers and clips and a few other things on top of decorating! If you don’t already know, that is my very favorite part! I got a ton of the decor at the 99 Cent store!

The instructions are very clear and easy to follow once you sort through the download. The night went really well, we laughed, ate, drank and laughed some more! There was a murder and we solved it! 3 of the 11 people playing guessed the murderer correctly! We gave out prizes for best dressed, best acting and the solver of the murder! We absolutely plan to do this, at the least, annually!
